However, they are also used with smaller children who are learning to differentiate the sound that each letter produces. In this way, he can begin an exploration stage where he realizes that each letter has a specific sound and as he joins different sounds he starts to form words. As the child matures he can continue using these letters with different purposes: he can be asked to write specific words, later on to write short phrases, then simple sentences and so on. A fun activity can be to give the child various objects (according to his writing abilities at the moment) and ask him to write their names. There are many ways to play with the Movable Alphabets and favor the child’s learning.
